Hebel Concerns

The Hebel panels were eventually completed, but the quality of the installation was leaves alot of unanswered questions.
The installers were working on more than on job at a time and would turn up to work on our house for a few hours then leave to work on the other job and spend most of the time setting up rather than working.
The panel appears to us to be poorly installed but the installers and our Metricon site supervisor both say the render application will cover up all the inperfections in the Hebel, I am yet to be convinced this will be the case and are concerned how the final product will look.

I hope my concerns are unwarranted!!

  1. Hi, following your blog for a couple of weeeks now, glad to see a new post. From reading posts of other people's building experice, I strongly suggest that you should make an issue out of these problem right now! Once the render's done all these problems will be coverd up and you will be arguing with no evidence. It may look fine then but who knows what'll happen in a few years time. You could hire an independent building inspector before rendering and see what a professional has to say. However it'll cost few hundred bucks.

  2. Hi, thanks for you comments. Yes we have an independent building inspector- big kev, used by a few bloggers. We have thehebel boss out tomorrow to fix any problems, we have photographed and documented all concerns. Rendering will start next week once everything is fixed. Most of the inside has been completed but the hebel goes on and on and on..... Fortunately the people who fix the hebel, render it too so they should guarantee the lot.
